Total Chaos is a model of Chaos 2, and is also very powerful, as you would expect. It is one of my older robots, and therefore is more of a model than a fighting robot in it's own right. It has a polystyrene shell, and a chassis made from polystyrene and foamboard. The side armour is 2mm thick, whilst the front armour is only 0.25mm thick. I needed to bend it round the curves at the front. The rear clear panel is made from 0.75mm clear PVC.
The weapon is a flipper. It is made from polystyrene again, and is powered by two 16mm bore single acting actuators at 100psi. This flipper will also self right the robot. The drive is older as well, using the clearbox motor and gearbox. These tend to break very quickly, and so will be replaced with home built ones. The robot carries three batteries, one 6v for the drive and two 12v for the valve.
This robot has been externally finished, and just needs fitting out. Here are some pictures:

Total Chaos before painting. It also has mock wheels

This photo shows Total Chaos before the front panels were fitted. It shows the chassis, side armour and inside supports. It also shows the gearboxes and flipper. The wheels are mock ups made from crisp tube lids!

This shot shows the thin front armour. The panels are screwed down. The front flipper blade, which is 1mm thick is also fitted here.

Total Chaos with covers
The finished robot

This shot shows the finished robot. The main bulk is grey, with the front covers in black. The rear panel is clear. This shot also shows the flipper support (unpainted), tail ‘skids’ and semi circle ‘ears’ on the back (to assist with self righting. The robot also has the proper wheels fitted.

More pictures in the Pictures section.

A new version of Total Chaos, Total Chaos 2, is currently under construction. It is slightly bigger than this one. Details shortly.
